Where Are the Best Places to Live in Tampa? Find the Best School Districts in Tampa!
Filed under: Buying a House in Tampa, MLS Listings in Tampa, Relocation, South Tampa, Tampa Neighborhoods, Tampa Real Estate Market
Best Places to Live in Tampa? Best Neighborhoods in Tampa? For families who are relocating to Tampa, or a PCS to MacDill Air Force Base, it is ALWAYS about the school district.
I have been relocating families, to Tampa, the Tampa Suburbs and MacDill Air Force Base for over 17 years. I KNOW the schools. Hillsborough County has some of the best schools in the US, including Plant High School, which ranks at 38, in the top 500 High Schools in the country.
What is the BEST neighborhood? That is different for every family, and every price range. The Tampa area has many different areas at all price ranges, from city living in South Tampa and the Plant High School District, to the northern reaches of the county. Some families choose Pasco county for slightly lower property taxes. How to decide where to live? That’s easy…contact me. Internet searches are no substitute for an experienced real estate agent. I think searching for homes on the internet, without the knowledge of the area, neighborhoods, and schools, makes it MORE confusing for anyone considering a relocation to Tampa.
Tell me about your family situation, work location, desired commute time, school needs and your social life, along with your housing needs and price range. I can quickly identify which areas and neighborhoods might suit your needs! This is the busy season, so if you are trying to find the perfect home before the end of the year, now is the time to start when the inventory is most plentiful!
You can read some of my previous articles on “Moving to Tampa”:

Where to Find a New Home in Tampa in a Top-Rated School District In Tampa
Filed under: Best Places in Tampa, Best Places to Live in Tampa, Best Tampa Neighborhoods, Best Tampa Schools, Buying a House in Tampa, Gated Communities in Tampa, MLS Listings in Tampa, New Tampa, Relocation, Tampa Neighborhoods, Tampa Real Estate, Tampa Real Estate Agent, Tampa Real Estate Market, Wharton High School
Most of my clients are families with children, who are looking for the “Best Neighborhoods in Tampa”, and the “Best School Districts” in Tampa. Tampa, the largest city in Hillsborough County, has many top-rated schools, in the State of Florida, and in the US, including three high schools in the top 100 High Schools in the US.
One of the areas that attracts many families with school-aged children, is the “New Tampa” area. With prices for homes ranging from $200,000 to over a million, there are many options available at all price points.
This home, located in the Wharton High School District, is priced at $460,000.
With 5 bedrooms, 3 baths and nearly 3000 square feet, it sits on an oversized conservation homesite.
New Tampa is also an area where you can build a new home, so that is a popular option for many of my clients. The Shoppes at Wiregrass and the New Tampa Regional Library are just minutes away! If choosing your own homesite, neighborhood, and all interior amenities is important to you, contact me today. Most of the new construction is not listed in MLS, so it is important to work with an agent who knows the builder inventory.
Commuting to Downtown Tampa, or Tampa International Airport is about 30 minutes!
Looking for the “best” neighborhood in Tampa? It depends on your lifestyle! and your price point. Let me know what you are looking for and I can help find the perfect neighborhood for your family. Contact me today!
I can help with your move to any Tampa neighborhood, including: South Tampa, Channelside, Harbour Island, Davis Islands, Beach Park, Sunset Park, Hyde Park, Culbreath Isles, Palma Ceia, Westchase, Waterchase, Odessa, Cheval, Avila, Brandon, Riverview, FishHawk, New Tampa, Tampa Palms, Hunters Green, Arbor Greene, Apollo Beach, South Shore, MiraBay, Golf Communities, Clearwater Beach, Waterfront Homes, Luxury Homes in Tampa, Condos in Tampa and International Real Estate .

The Best Schools in Tampa Are Some of the Best Schools in the US!

Tampa Schools Received National Recognition, once again! In the Washington Post’s High School Challenge, High Schools across the United States were “ranked” using the following criteria: The number of Advanced Placement Classes, International Baccalaureate Classes and College Level Tests a school had given in 2010 was divided by the number of graduating seniors.
This method insures that the size of the student body did not influence the rankings.
The Tampa School District is a “Countywide” District. Hillsborough County Schools have plenty to brag about! Ten of the Hillsborough County High Schools made the “Top 500″ High School List and Three of the top 100 High Schools in the US are in the Hillsborough County School District. Once Again, H.B. Plant High school, with a U.S. ranking of 38th “Best High School in the US”, is the only non-IB school of the top three schools in the District.
Below is the list of the Ten Hillsborough County (Tampa Schools) that made the Top 500 High Schools in the U.S.
I have also noted if they are an International Baccalaureate School, or a Magnet School.
National Rankings for Tampa Area High Schools
#38 H.B. Plant High School, Tampa (South Tampa Neighborhood)
#52 C. Leon King High School, Tampa (International Baccalaureate Program)
#56 Hillsborough High School, Tampa (International Baccalaureate Program)
#129 Wharton High School, Tampa (New Tampa Neighborhood)
#195 Newsome High School, Lithia (FishHawk Neighborhood)
#251 Gaither High School, Tampa (Carrollwood Neighborhood)
#254 Freedom High School, Tampa, (Lutz, New Tampa Neighborhoods)
#299 Bloomingdale High School, Valrico (Bloomingdale, Valrico Neighborhoods)
#407 Blake High School, Tampa (Downtown and Magnet School for the Creative, Performing and Visual Arts)
#492 Chamberlain High School, Tampa (Carrollwood Neighborhood)

Where Are the Best Places to Live in Tampa? Tampa Real Estate Market
Filed under: Best Places, Buying a House in Tampa, Historic Tampa, MacDill AFB, Moving to Tampa, Places to Live, Plant High School, Relocation, Schools in Tampa, South Tampa, Tampa Neighborhoods, Tampa Schools, Waterfront Homes in Tampa
The latest news on the Best Neighborhoods in Tampa, Moving to Tampa and PCS to Macdill Air Force Base….
Many Families are searching the Tampa Real Estate Market for homes in highly-rated school districts in Tampa. The Plant High School District is always at the top of that list. Here is another article in my series on “Plant High School Neighborhoods.” Plant High School is one of the “Top 100 High Schools” in the U.S., so I am always relocating families into the Plant High School District.
I have been spending a lot of time in Beach Park and Sunset Park lately, as I am looking for a “teardown”, for some clients who are looking to build a new home in the Plant High School district.
Beach Park and Sunset Park, two well-established South Tampa neighborhoods, run South of Kennedy Boulevard and East and West of Westshore Boulevard and border Tampa Bay. Large lots, along with grandfather oaks, line the winding streets that
have been popular since their development in the 1950’s. Brick ranches, Mediterranean and Traditional styled-homes fill these neighborhoods which include waterfront homes in Beach Park Isles and Sunset Park Isles, commonly known as the “fingers”, which dead-end into Tampa Bay, making this area very popular for boating enthusiasts!
Grady and Dale Mabry Elementary Schools, Coleman Middle School and Plant High School are all “top” rated, making Beach Park and Sunset Park an ideal choice for families with children. Just a ten minute drive to Tampa International Airport, or Downtown Tampa, it is very convenient for the busy professional!
Prices range from $400,000 to several million. For a list of the homes available in Beach Park, or Sunset Park, you can contact me today!
You can read some of my previous articles about Tampa neighborhoods:

School is out in The Tampa Real Estate Market…Where are the Best Vacations for Kids?
Filed under: Buying a House in Tampa, Fun and Frolic, Relocation, Schools in Tampa, Tampa Neighborhoods, Tampa Real Estate Agent, Tampa Real Estate Market, Tampa Schools, Travel
The latest news on the Tampa Real Estate Market, Moving to Tampa, Tampa Neighborhoods and Tampa Schools, every day, on The Real Estate Sizzle.
School is out in Hillsborough County and summer is well underway. Students will return to the Classroom on August 24. Florida schools have an earlier summer than the rest of the country, which can make vacation planning a challenge. If you want your child to have other children to play with on vacation, you should plan a vacation sometime in late June to early August, when the rest of the country is also out for the summer , or stay in Florida and enjoy some of our fabulous family-oriented resorts. Conversely, if you are heading to Europe, go in Early June and avoid the summer crowds and the heat, as many shops, restaurants and smaller hotels do not have Air conditioning and all of Europe seems to be on holiday in August.
These are some of my favorite family vacation spots.
Cape Cod, Massachusetts .There is something for everyone on the Cape from Beaches to Bumper Cars. You trip is not complete without a meal at the Clam Box! Stay at the Chatham Bars Inn for a little pampering right on the ocean, New England-style.
Sanibel and Captiva, Florida Shelling is the favorite pastime on the islands off the coast near Fort Myers. The islands are perfect for long bike rides and the living is sweet at South Seas Plantation. Its laid back Florida with fun dining at the Bubble Room and the Mucky Duck.
Cruises
Cruises are family friendly with plenty of activities for kids and their parents. The trips to the Caribbean exploring Mayan ruins and local treasures are loads of fun. The ship has activities from dawn to the wee hours…If anyone is bored, it’s not because there is “nothing to do!” From Pool games to limbo dancing and blackjack tables to feasting on the “Midnight Buffet”…who could complain? You can leave from the Port of Tampa!
Charleston, South Carolina. Ghost walks, low-country cooking and plenty of old-fashioned Southern Charm abound in this great waterside city! Wander through the old cemetery and take a horse-drawn carriage ride. This is my favorite “Southern” City! Be sure to feast on some low country cooking shrimp and grits!
Vermont You can explore the Green Mountains, go boating on Lake Champlain and enjoy a tour, and a taste, at Ben and Jerrys ice cream factory! Head to a local Maple farm for some maple syrup, or the Cabot cheese factory for a little Vermont cheddar. Smugglers Notch is a family-oriented resort in the heart of it all.
Paris
The ultimate destination, in spite of the cost of the Euro, especially for teenagers. I took my son several years ago, as a special reward for several years of “perfect” grades! You can spend an entire day in the Louvre, ride to the top of the eiffel tower and seek out the perfect skateboard in a local skate shop! Nibble on crepes from street vendors and enjoy french pastries from the local patisserie. Stop in at Angelina, for the best hot chocolate in Paris.

I saw Jumbo Rates (mortgages over $417,000) for 5.75% yesterday! Get those visions of sugarplums out of your heads and start thinking “long term”….a 30 year fixed rate below 5% vs. 6% will save you over $100,000 in payments.
Want to get an even LOWER mortgage rate when you buy a home in Tampa, or Clearwater Beach right now? Contact me today about how to take advantage of the “buyer’s market” and how to get a “free appraisal”, or “lower interest rate” in the Tampa Real Estate Market!
